In the wake of her father’s death in the line of duty, 16 year old Dani is plagued by nightmares of war, suppressed childhood memories, and visits from an ancient yet familiar “Monster”. With a sudden onset of insomnia distorting her reality, Dani is forced to face the waking horrors of her past victimization/abuse and the many warped forms familial love takes. Searching for truth in a world that will never be as simple as the bedtime stories that once soothed her to sleep, Dani goes on a dynamic journey of healing in the absence of closure divided across three worlds.

Darcy works as a specialty wedding officiant for “Ring it On!” using her fluency in multiple fantasy languages to customize Wedding vows for couples. Dressing in elaborate themed costumes for ceremonies, Darcy is surrounded by the many unique forms that love takes. But as she watches her roommate spiral over her immigrant boyfriend who only speaks Spanish, Darcy begins to question the specific connection of language and love with every passing vow she writes. After getting roped into officiating the wedding of her ex that left her bankrupt though, she begins to see her knowledge of languages as an opportunity for revenge as well.

Every year, a single representative for the nation is selected at random to participate in “Swing Vote,” the top rated American game show. Hosts Red and Blue debate hot button topics, and the representative votes according to their own desires. In this world, the vote immediately puts into effect every policy proposed. But, as the show progresses, it becomes increasingly clear that Red and Blue don’t actually care about the people they effect. They care about winning.
Red Wire Blue, explores voter anxiety, and the development of political entertainment, at the expense of democratic integrity.
